  • The Museum of madness portrays a sad reality of a not so distant past, it's hard to feel good about what is seen. But at the same time an invitation to reflection. The acquis is very Rico and highlights the history, to complete for callouts and guides prepared to do better understand. Generates a consciousness and revolt, at the same time a gratitude that somehow seems to have evolved as a society on this issue.

  • the Museum is very cool. barbacena is known as town Madmen because of the constant receipt of "mentally ill" many years ago, is very nice after all this time could enter the Museum and check out a little of history

  • For those seeking entertainment in Barbacena, or knowledge about Psychiatry in Brazil, the Museum of madness is an excellent choice. It's a quick walk, with only one flight of stairs to climb, guided tour and entrance is free. There are still local, but inside they are in accommodation which cannot be accessed, some of these inmates have free access by flags and you'll end up crossing with some of them, which doesn't offer any kind of risk. Worth knowing a little bit of everything that happened with this population in the past, even to help psychiatric patients of today.
