  • The Museum was founded in 20.09.1956 and keeps working, since 22.03.1975, the beautiful and historic building of the Portuguese society of Beneficence of Bagé. Its vast collection relates to the history of the city and the whole region, including furniture, lamps, crockery, clothing, personal objects, some collections of newspapers and a large amount of historical photos. At night, there is a beautiful view of the building all lit up.

  • Without much to evaluate and say, we were at the time indicated for visits but it was closed ... I read on the internet that this is common at the Museum. On the outside is really nice, with a classic Portuguese architecture, although a weather-beaten.

  • The confusion during the hours of service generated anxiety across the Group: visit scheduled for Monday (day in which no Museum opens ...), almost left "stranded"!!! The luck that we rely on the competence of the local guide, Renar, and good will of the employee (Isabel-?), who agreed to anticipate the opening on Sunday, so we could "fit in" to visit in programming! And it totally holds: important parts of Gaucho history are showing for visitation. Not to be missed!
