Nossa Senhora da Ajuda Church, Arraial d'Ajuda

#3 of 8 in Historic Sites in Porto Seguro
With a lovely view of Arraial out its backdoor, the Nossa Senhora da Ajuda Church is a peaceful spiritual viewpoint. This is the church that gave rise to the town below, but even still it retains the simple and unassuming architecture reflecting the Jesuit’s austere moral code. Before heading back to town, stop for a tasty ice cream at “Uai Uai” next to the church. Remember to tie a ribbon on the wall to pay tribute to the patron saint of the Camp. • very picturesque... A place to visit if you're going to arraial d'ajuda d´. A church super beautiful and very well maintained. On the back of it there are balconies to tie strips. A stunning view from the top.

  • Must-see if one goes to Arraial. Very enjoyable and entertaining ride considering the small promenade of shopping this around! Recommended!

Where to stay in Porto Seguro

Luxury hotels and beach resorts are the name of the game when it comes to accommodations in Porto Seguro, with many tourists looking to relax and enjoy the coastal atmosphere. Most of these lie a couple of miles north of the city center, pressed up against long stretches of beach. To enjoy the party scene and get close to the best things to see in Porto Seguro, stay in the narrow streets of the old town. However, if the nightlife seems a bit too intense for your taste, consider the plentiful options in Arraial d'Ajuda--a smaller, quieter town just a couple of miles to the south.
