Nossa Senhora da Ajuda Church, Arraial d'Ajuda

#3 of 9 in Historic Sites in Porto Seguro
With a lovely view of Arraial out its backdoor, the Nossa Senhora da Ajuda Church is a peaceful spiritual viewpoint. This is the church that gave rise to the town below, but even still it retains the simple and unassuming architecture reflecting the Jesuit’s austere moral code. Before heading back to town, stop for a tasty ice cream at “Uai Uai” next to the church. Remember to tie a ribbon on the wall to pay tribute to the patron saint of the Camp. Old church, more or less than 1700. Super cozy! Linda! Is the first Marian shrine of Brazil. There are Ministry of masses in the morning and night (see the schedule at the door of the Church). The priest a sweet, super cozy and the service is pretty good. Behind the Church has a beautiful view to the sea is a wall of ribbons of orders that people tie leaving the visuals still more beautiful and colorful. In front has a very historic lace doilies and charmosinho a nice square! Worth also search on the history ... They say that when the Jesuits arrived in Arraial D'ajuda searching for fresh water and not found. So they prayed to Our Lady of help and sprouted water. In the interior of the Church has several stories of healing is miracle.

Historic site, fantastic ride. Has a beautiful square around is close to Mucuge (another cultural richness of Bahia). The bars and snack bars are great for a delicious coffee, the Sanctuary provides a true experience of meeting with the faith and has constant transport.

Where to stay in Porto Seguro

Luxury hotels and beach resorts are the name of the game when it comes to accommodations in Porto Seguro, with many tourists looking to relax and enjoy the coastal atmosphere. Most of these lie a couple of miles north of the city center, pressed up against long stretches of beach. To enjoy the party scene and get close to the best things to see in Porto Seguro, stay in the narrow streets of the old town. However, if the nightlife seems a bit too intense for your taste, consider the plentiful options in Arraial d'Ajuda--a smaller, quieter town just a couple of miles to the south.
