Mucuge Beach, Arraial d'Ajuda

3.9
#7 of 43 in Outdoors in Porto Seguro
Sheltered from the ocean waves by a coral reef, Mucuge Beach is mostly popular for its inexpensive bars and beachfront restaurants with live music. At low tide, swimming is not advisable, since the corals can hurt your feet. During low season, the water might be too cold for swimming, but you can rent a kayak and paddle along the shore. • In the beautiful city of Porto Seguro, Praia do Mucugê, is endowed with long stretch of sand. Is a typical Beach to walk, play racquetball, riding a banana boat, parasailing, kayaking, and where children can peacefully play well, the water is warm, without waves or currents, existing along your extension several tents very well structured serving the most varied menus of taste, to lunch. Is a beach. If it gets to the center of Porto Seguro, bus, taxi, uber, and if I'm not mistaken of vans. Worth the ride, and the photos are stunning. Nominate the cabin quiet, it's not the closest, but it's one of the best.

  • The time that we were the tide was high, the beach was full and the cabins all dirty ... I didn't like:(

  • Tranquil beach due to the formation of calm water pools formed by banks of coral reefs. Easy for kids and you don't want to feel danger. Recommend.

  • Great beach to spend the day at. Calm water for stand-up paddle (SUP) beginners. Kayaks and SUP boards available to rent by the hour. If you paddle out to the breakwater you might get to see some turtles!

Where to stay in Porto Seguro

Luxury hotels and beach resorts are the name of the game when it comes to accommodations in Porto Seguro, with many tourists looking to relax and enjoy the coastal atmosphere. Most of these lie a couple of miles north of the city center, pressed up against long stretches of beach. To enjoy the party scene and get close to the best things to see in Porto Seguro, stay in the narrow streets of the old town. However, if the nightlife seems a bit too intense for your taste, consider the plentiful options in Arraial d'Ajuda--a smaller, quieter town just a couple of miles to the south.
