Orla Bardot Boardwalk, Armacao dos Buzios
Categories: Piers & Boardwalks, Tourist Spots
Orla Bardot Boardwalk, connecting Armacao Beach with the city’s famous Rua das Pedras, was named after French actress Brigitte Bardot, whose visit to the area in 1964 turned a small fishing village into a renowned tourist destination. Linking two of the city’s oldest sections, this oceanfront pathway features several statues created by artist Christina Motta, including representations of Bardot and former Brazilian president Juscelino Kubitschek. The path is lined by wooden benches, and offers panoramic views of the beach and dozens of colorful fishing boats anchored just off the coast. Talk a walk along the boardwalk to discover one of the region’s oldest fishing communities, see historic colonial houses, and browse numerous shops, bars, and restaurants.
