Aldeia Hippie, Arembepe

3.3
#3 of 6 in Things to do in Arembepe
Mick Jagger and Janice Joplin once found inspiration at Aldeia Hippie, a hippie community just 30 kilometers (19 mi) from the state capital. The site, located near a small town, can be reached by a short bus ride. Nearby, in an area of unspoiled nature, you can also visit a TAMAR Project station, dedicated to research and preservation of sea turtle species threatened by extinction. Just beyond the station is a large camping area, situated on top of a sand dune and surrounded by native coconut trees and colorful thatched roofs of small huts. You can pitch your tent here and then walk to the nearby river, where you can swim, kayak, or sunbathe in complete privacy. • In addition to the hippie village offers crafts, power option, the beautiful beach and lagoon. Very quiet location, a bit far away to walk to the Centre of arembepe, is next to the stand of the Tamar project.

  • A place at random, forgotten, without any attraction, except for a few handicrafts, walks a lot to get there, is next to the Tamar project of Arembepe.

  • The Hippie Village of Arembepe is attractive by encouraging close contact with nature: there don't move cars and the beaches tend to be more empty than the rest of Arembepe. Is pretty much the sunset Dune, assisted worth stretching the tour in the village until a little after the sun goes down after a day or an afternoon of sea bathing, it pays to take advantage of the (usually) warm water of the river. Unfortunately on some weekends (most commonly on holidays and summer) the river is occupied by clueless people who place loud, do farofada and dirty everything.

  • The hippie village in arembepe exists since 1971 and received artists and personalities. I spent the day in the village and was able to prove the power and beauty of the place. The sea is wild but qd a mare low form pools. Surfers enjoy the waves. The location values simplicity. The craft is great for anyone who likes the hippie fashion. We had lunch in the restaurant of the Roque where I had the best fish moqueca with shrimp.

  • A wonderful place, paradise, meetings of salt water and fresh water. Family environment, good for hiking with friends, tours, has good people. I met a group that lives on site camping and loca for those who want a place to stay, then just use the creativity and bring the crowd to enjoy, do a luau, looking at the sea and the stars. A wonder that only Bahia can provide.
