  • NOT RECOMMEND MORE. Until 2005 it was a good beach and water bottom clean and free from rocks. Until a mayor called chiquinho of atacadão decided to make a eleitoreira work. Just with native vegetation, acimentou good part to do parking lot, did masonry buildings that could not be sustained (internet room type at the time said it would be 12:00 am. Currently it's all decayed and abandoned, showing visible waste of public money); Gym and hot tub for elderly = closed and inoperable. As if that wasn't enough, it turned out rubble of the work in water and stones hurt the feet of bathers. The water, despite being more renewed due to the clearing of channels that connect the lagoon in Cabo Frio, is not clear due to the mud that is accumulated in the bottom, probably from the sewers. Environmental crime. At the time, the INEA and the MP tried to block the work but had no strength. Currently goes for walk, hiking and picnic. Do not recommend baths.

  • We'll talk about Araruama, which is still a place not too big and people know you and you still around the neighborhood. I have a theory that the smaller the place, the better. Because this because everyone knows you and you are part of the city and the most important thing you felt it! When shopping at certain place someone question: what happened to you? In San Diego you have this, either in the Beard is in Dry Beach is in St. Vincent that has delicious cheeses, eggs, etc. It's not just that the fair in Abu Dhabi also has it, is a delight! If you go to a restaurant, it's like part of the family! Where has this today? On The Araruama Lake. The Church of St. Sebastian, the beach of tip, Iguabinha that has nothing, but we have what we all seek: Peace. I'm suspect to talk of Araruama and Iguaba Grande these towns live in my heart for the people, the places simple and tasty, even the streets because some do not have pavement, but we have the delicious wind, birds of different species, delicious fish, fruiting trees in the streets and the most important peace. On all these places Brazil become more full, but nothing prevents you feel that and we respect the visitor and we hope they respect us too. Come on people, is near the River, and enjoy the best peace and simple and delicious.

  • Always step on the beach of the Beard when I can, place is quiet with educated people (local residents never see you but give you a good day with a beautiful smile), depending on the point at which lies can be hard to find something to eat.

Where to stay in Araruama

Araruama's accommodations lie along the north of the lagoon, as well as along the southern strip of land separating the lagoon from the ocean--so the real thing to decide is whether you want to be lakeside, or oceanside. The major hotels concentrate near the lake in the main urban area, particularly in the Centro district. They generally offer comfortable rooms at good prices, though many visitors' main concern is the view. As for budget-friendly guesthouses, you'll find some throughout the main town, although they're more common south of the lake along the Atlantic coast, where family-run pousadas offer basic rooms, many with excellent views.
