Artistas beach, Aracaju

3.0
#11 of 16 in Beaches in Aracaju
Beach Nature / Park
The most popular urban beach in Aracaju, thanks to its good infrastructure, Artistas beach (Old Watchtower Beach) is also much frequented by surfers. As well as the usual beach stalls selling snacks and coconut water, you will find plenty of bars where you can enjoy a drink and a dance, and those looking to exercise will appreciate the basketball, soccer and tennis courts, and the nearby skate park. Be careful when swimming, as the strong currents and hidden underwater trenches have been known to catch tourists unawares. Use our Aracaju itinerary planner to visit Artistas beach on your trip to Aracaju, and learn what else travelers and our writers recommend seeing nearby.

  • The last time I visited was better. Seems a bit decadent. The bars have a menu with various items, but when you ask if there's availability, the answer is no. There are bars or distribute more chairs and tables around the edge. It's a shame! Better go to the beach in Aruana.
