  • Simply impressive! A beautiful church at the beginning of the century. Everywhere you see history. Beautiful stained glass Windows in the side walls. The paintings on the ceiling are very beautiful! With certainty is stopping point for visit in Antônio Prado!

  • Beautiful with a simple interior and beautiful. Stays open which has been usual in other churches. The Secretary of the parish was very well attended in the search of the data of my grandparents wedding and baptism of my grandmother.

  • IGREJA MATRIZ SAGRADO CORAÇÃO DE JESUS Data de construção: de 1891 a 1897; reformas em 1899 e outra entre 1925 e 1928 Alexandre Pellegrini foi o primeiro padre de Antônio Prado, em 1888, rezou a primeira missa no Barracão dos Imigrantes, onde proferiu “Homens livres do orbe! Eis aqui a terra de promissão. Só com os braços conquistareis o pão e a liberdade”. Por iniciativa do Padre Pellegrini a igreja matriz tem até hoje como padroeiro o Sagrado Coração de Jesus. Construída em alvenaria, a igreja demorou seis anos para ficar pronta. Em 1899, sob o ordenamento do Padre Fasulo, a igreja sofreu sua primeira reforma e embelezamento. Em 1911, chegaram, puxados por carretas, os três sinos da igreja: o maior, pesa 890 quilos e o menor, 464 quilos. Em 1912 foi erguido ao lado esquerdo da igreja, o campanário de madeira para abrigar os novos sinos. Entre os anos de 1925 e 1928 ocorreu a segunda reforma da igreja, a mesma ganhou novos vitrais que culminou na construção das novas escadarias para o acesso a igreja. Já na década de 50, o artista italiano Emilio Benvenutto Zanon foi contratado para fazer as pinturas internas da igreja.
