Setor Historico, Antonina

(3.7/5 based on 100+ reviews on the web)
In 2012 the local government acknowledged the historical importance of Antonina by making its Setor Historico (Historic Sector) a heritage sight. The region was one of the earliest areas explored by the Portuguese Crown in southern Brazil, and the town owes its early prosperity to gold mining in the area. Take a walk down cobbled streets with colorful colonial houses on either side, visit the three historic churches, including the Church of Our Lady of Pilar, dating back to 1714, and try the regional dish, Barreado. • The streets and the historic houses in transport to another time. Nice ride. Not all buildings have undergone restoration and the Center is quite small, not spending much time. Watch out for the timetables. In General, there is little movement and the areas near the River are not very secure.

  • It is worth to know the history and the architecture, a pity that some points of interest are in bad condition.

  • More beautiful than the historic centre of Morretes. Worth a visit for its beautiful photographs you can get there.
