Setor Historico, Antonina
(3.7/5 based on 95 reviews on the web)
In 2012 the local government acknowledged the historical importance of Antonina by making its Setor Historico (Historic Sector) a heritage sight. The region was one of the earliest areas explored by the Portuguese Crown in southern Brazil, and the town owes its early prosperity to gold mining in the area. Take a walk down cobbled streets with colorful colonial houses on either side, visit the three historic churches, including the Church of Our Lady of Pilar, dating back to 1714, and try the regional dish, Barreado. Plan to see Setor Historico and other attractions that appeal to you using our Antonina vacation route planner.

  • The historical sector of the city is very beautiful. Unfortunately not everything is well taken care of, but you can have an idea of how the city was at the time of its peak. Nice place to walk and photograph.

  • Antonina is a small town quiet, bucolic and its historical centre is very interesting for those who enjoy the colonial architecture. Their colorful mansions still well preserved, its narrow streets and to rocks to contemplation and nostalgia, I recommend doing the walk to better appreciate the details.
