Pico Paraná is the highest mountain in the Brazilian state of Paraná and in all Southern Brazil. It is composed of granite and gneiss. It was discovered by German explorer Reinhard Maack. He also made the first ascent of the mountain, together with Rudolf Stamm and Alfred Mysing. The official height was obtained in 1992 by three teams from the Federal University of Paraná, using the Global Positioning System.

  • Lovers of adventures, this is one of the best places for mountaineering in the South of the country. It is necessary to be aware of mountaineering, good fitness in particular for legs, still, hassles ... but these are part, otherwise I wouldn't have emotion. Camping on top was a wonderful experience, even with the rain.

  • Pico do Paraná is a great place for lovers of mountain climbing, is a long-term and difficult trail, not recommend to people who are not prepared, are around 10 hours of trail to reach the Summit, but the view is magnificent and stunning.
