Ilha Grande State Park, Angra Dos Reis
(4.8/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web)
An island located off the coast of Rio de Janeiro State, Ilha Grande State Park is known for its scenic beauty. Largely undeveloped and entirely off limit to cars, the only way for you to explore the island is on foot. Over 150 km (93 mi) of hiking trails criss-cross the lush, untouched rain forest, connecting the handful of small coastal settlements with the tropical beaches, mountain peaks, and waterfalls. One of the most pristine remnants of Brazil's Atlantic rainforest, Ilha Grande State Park holds some of the largest remaining populations of many endangered species, including the red-ruffed fruitcrow, the brown howler monkey, the maned sloth, the red-browed Amazon parrot, and the broad-snouted caiman. The waters surrounding the island feature a unique convergence of tropical, subtropical, and temperate-zone marine life, where you can observe corals and tropical fish alongside penguins and Southern right whales. • The Park is actually the big island, which is located 40 minutes by boat from the pier in the Centre of angra dos reis, trails, beaches and animals are the attractions of the island. The part facing the coast of angra dos reis you will have the village of Abram, arrival of the boats and in the part facing the oceans will have wonderful beaches like lopes mendes, South and others. From Abram to track these beaches take each 2 hours, but you go by boat tb as well. Just walk in groups on the trails because unfortunately violence tb has arrived in this paradise.
