Vale da Lua, Alto Paraiso de Goias

Categories: Geologic Formations, Bodies of Water, Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.4/5 based on 1,800+ reviews on the web
A bizarre landscape that recalls the moon’s surface, Vale da Lua is one of the most visited spots in Alto Paraiso de Goias. The rock formations the spot is famous for were carved out by flowing water that left scooping hollows and small gorges where pools collect. These craters and gorges have smooth surfaces that, when filled with water, create natural water slides and bathing pools for visitors. You’ll need hiking boots to get there; but, once there, a swimsuit and water shoes will suit the occasion just fine. You’ll pay a fee upon entering the area, but a guide isn’t necessary and the money goes to the preservation and upkeep of the area. • Can be done in one afternoon, after knowing the chapada dos veadeiros National Park, or after meeting the fazenda São Bento. The pictures we can't see how the site is interesting, different and beautiful. Don't even think about going with children, is very dangerous.

  • Location that all who go to Chapada dos Veadeiros must go, has an interesting geology and the kids have fun. During the holiday is pretty full, but in other periods it's quiet.
