Vale da Lua, Alto Paraiso de Goias

(4.4/5 based on 2,000+ reviews on the web)
A bizarre landscape that recalls the moon’s surface, Vale da Lua is one of the most visited spots in Alto Paraiso de Goias. The rock formations the spot is famous for were carved out by flowing water that left scooping hollows and small gorges where pools collect. These craters and gorges have smooth surfaces that, when filled with water, create natural water slides and bathing pools for visitors. You’ll need hiking boots to get there; but, once there, a swimsuit and water shoes will suit the occasion just fine. You’ll pay a fee upon entering the area, but a guide isn’t necessary and the money goes to the preservation and upkeep of the area. Plan to visit Vale da Lua during your Alto Paraiso de Goias vacation using our convenient Alto Paraiso de Goias family vacation planner.

  • The location is different from anything I've ever seen. The stones desgastas by the force of the water and the time they bring a unique environment, a true masterpiece of nature.
