Vale da Lua, Alto Paraiso de Goias

(4.4/5 based on 1,900+ reviews on the web)
A bizarre landscape that recalls the moon’s surface, Vale da Lua is one of the most visited spots in Alto Paraiso de Goias. The rock formations the spot is famous for were carved out by flowing water that left scooping hollows and small gorges where pools collect. These craters and gorges have smooth surfaces that, when filled with water, create natural water slides and bathing pools for visitors. You’ll need hiking boots to get there; but, once there, a swimsuit and water shoes will suit the occasion just fine. You’ll pay a fee upon entering the area, but a guide isn’t necessary and the money goes to the preservation and upkeep of the area. • Beautiful location and super easy to get. You don't need a guide because the trail does not require much effort and the difficulty level is zero. To the elderly and children can go. The route of the trail is also short and, in a few minutes you get to the Valley of the moon.

  • Walk through the Valley of the Moon is always a captivating experience. I've been 3 times and always amaze me with the beauty of this place. Have a delicious entry bar tapioca, try! Take trail with beautiful scenery.

  • Different landscape and very pretty. You must be careful to walk on the rocks. Better go to tennis. I suggest you not take small kids.

  • Stunning place, pleasant swim in the river. Paid entry but well worth it!
  • Worth visit, interesting geological formation. Top three places in region, not a huge waterfall but it is possible to swim.
