Inspirock Rating:
3.9/5 based on 380+ reviews on the web
Part of a 1.8-billion-year-old plateau, Raizama waterfall is one of dozens of waterfalls cascading over ancient rock formations. The water cuts so deeply into these rocks that large canyons have formed ages ago. Modern visitors often use them as diving platforms. You can jump in for a cool swim, or choose to rappel down these age-old stone walls. The trail is steep, with wooden stairs and handrails, but it’s worth the effort to see vegetation of rare jungle plants, such as 25 different species of orchids. Birds also thrive here, and you can spot and hear them flying right over your head as you climb the trail leading up to the waterfalls. • This waterfall is a must. Visual beautiful, wonderful water. Is very worthwhile! Light hike to reach the site, it's nice to take something to eat and stay there a while admiring and diving.

  • Raizama is a very nice waterfall, near St. George, and the trail is not so great, tb is not tiring. Got a thing big that can only look, but has a large pit delicious to swim. Something not so good is that the sun don't shine, is more in the middle of the day, between 11:00 and 2:00 pm. If you don't like a lot of ice water will suffer a little, because entering the icy water without Sun is more difficult, lol. But it's wonderful, well rewarding, renews the energies even. The well has some rocks on the sides and you will swim among these stones, is a far cry from other waterfalls. There's another tb with a small drop, but you can enjoy tb and take children. A part of the trail you take the side of the Hill/stone, which is very beautiful, you pass a little beneath the stone, it is really cool, beautiful and different.

  • The attraction is not as spectacular as other waterfalls of chapada, however I found the beautiful rock formations, with a few places for bathing. The cerrado flora is very rich during the trail with several species for contemplation. The canyons are very deep and dangerous, I wouldn't recommend it for kids.
