Raizama waterfall, Alto Paraiso de Goias

3.8
#9 of 15 in Parks in Alto Paraiso de Goias
Part of a 1.8-billion-year-old plateau, Raizama waterfall is one of dozens of waterfalls cascading over ancient rock formations. The water cuts so deeply into these rocks that large canyons have formed ages ago. Modern visitors often use them as diving platforms. You can jump in for a cool swim, or choose to rappel down these age-old stone walls. The trail is steep, with wooden stairs and handrails, but it’s worth the effort to see vegetation of rare jungle plants, such as 25 different species of orchids. Birds also thrive here, and you can spot and hear them flying right over your head as you climb the trail leading up to the waterfalls. • Horrible place, is an absurd charge Still to visit this waterfall is virtually dry, is loooong below all places of high. Regretted bitterly, was a waste of time, money and energy, because you walk like a camel not to get anywhere! Don't waste your time there, much less 20 reais. If you knew wouldn't even if I could pay off.

  • When I went (April 2017) Raizama entry cost real 20. The trail to the river is pretty quiet and very well cared for, with viewpoints and wooden structures in parts more complicated. The Raizama is a river between very nice canyons. You can swim between the canyons, though not give foot (in which case you can climb the rocks with care and help and explore better the location is beautiful) or just relaxing by the stones in the middle of the river. In a part of the river you can see a waterfall that flows into canyons ahead. In this part, you can jump into the pit, but be careful not to be pulled through the water. Later, following the trail to go back, there is a gazebo for the larger falls, which is not accessible.
