Parque Nacional da Chapada dos Veadeiros, Alto Paraiso de Goias

(4.8/5 based on 2,000+ reviews on the web)
Gorges that call to you with the sweet sound of a shallow river and eye-popping waterfalls that drown the river out with their powerful descent; all of it is at Parque Nacional da Chapada dos Veadeiros. This is also the home of Moon Valley with its scooped rock formations that create natural water slides. In fact, UNESCO declared the park a World Heritage Site in 2001, so the 1.8 billion year old forest will be protected for all time. The protected land hosts thousands of visitors each year, but the wilderness is expansive enough that you may never see them. Wear your best hiking shoes, a pair that handle both dirt paths and rocky passages, and bring snacks and water for the trek. Consider shacking up in nearby Sao Jorge where the inns are simple and clean, and the locals are friendly. Put Parque Nacional da Chapada dos Veadeiros at the forefront of your travel plans using our Alto Paraiso de Goias tour planner.

  • Love to make the trail by the National Park. We did the trail of leaps and Rapids ... a little exhausting because of the heat, so we recommend go the 8:00 when the Park opens. Note: the parking lot next to the Park doesn't belong to the same and does not revert any part of your fee to the Park.

  • Divine. Perfect. Unspeakable. We are small, we feel, we feel gods, participating in the creation of the paradise. At least one week per year (365x7), we need to leave the big city, with your air toxic, their killing machines, their plastic people and get lost in the middle of nature untouched by man. Worth every penny invested. Nothing like a bath in the waterfall, to renew your energy and strengthen the feeling stronger every day to move away from Babylon.

  • Crazy this place. No wonder that has all the wacky planet, daimistas, backpackers, gringos, hare krishnas, Esperantists, Buddhists, Indians, shamans, and more. The site is full of mysticism and fantasy more fantasy of course. All locations are very finely tuned with the legends and stories. Think of a place with thousand of cahcoeiras, is there. The Park is in the village of St. George, was there between January and February, and 22 days, 21 were disheartening, cold rain and relentless. Nothing stopped us from seeing everything we wanted, or almost. Within the Park has several options at trails head office has maps, guides to inform us and we watch a video about the site before you begin. The Park is huge, and strongly signaled, the track is perfect, to lose there have to be very, very same gamete. Has 3 km trail, 5 km, 10 km, 2 days ... you choose how much hold walk. I really wanted to see the Canyon, the photos were fantastic, but it rained so much that the Canyon has turned into a turbulent River and big dark water, nothing to do with the pictures I've seen ... but it is the fault of the rain. The village was born and lived for a long time because of the camp, at the beginning is cool to see transparent Crystal, pink, white, after 30 seconds the people step on both the way to Crystal gets old, I remember at first get some to bring, when sit heavy pockets moved on and gave everything, enough to be dull so has. Here comes the hint, don't walk barefoot with I did, these crystals are like razors in the flesh. Before traveling, sought information on the site of attraction and everything flowed as planned. As we were walking, we stayed in the village, which is highly gourmetizada, it was hard to eat cheap and stay spending little. Then we could go to the park without relying on anyone, but who can afford to stay on the high side is paradise and enjoy just the Park, because the village basically serves only to visit the Park.
