Catarata dos Couros, Alto Paraiso de Goias

With several waterfalls located in one place, Catarata dos Couros is the perfect way to spend the day, swimming and hiking. It is best to hire a guide since the trail is not marked well and you will learn so much more about the beautiful flora and fauna in this way. To reach the falls, there is a dirt road of about 30 km (18.6 mi) long. The trail itself is only 2.5 km (1.5 mi) and quite rocky so it is wise to wear hiking boots. The water is not too cold so you can take a refreshing and comfortable swim in the river. At the bottom, there is a large drop to the right and two natural pools also great for bathing. On the left side, there are two more beautiful falls and incredible views of the canyon. You can walk most of the route bordering the river, which reveals various landscapes alternating between river rocks, waterfalls, and canyons. All in all, there is much to take in at Catarata dos Couros. • One of the most beautiful waterfalls of the Chapada, however, dangerous depending on the volume of water. I advise you go with local guide for greater security.

  • Without doubt one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. Is not restricted only to cataract. Walking the trail more 1 hour you will find landscapes of Canyon, and a stunning waterfall of beauty. Must-see.

  • One of the best waterfalls in Chapada, with many options, pools to swimming, hiking, take photos or camp.
  • Beautiful place, moderate trail, with some excerpts, a lot of stone. Is very worthwhile. Enjoy lunch in the region to mark the farm next door. Recommended to go with a guide and in his car, as are 35 km of dirt road. Worth spending a day, depending on the schedule of your trip.

  • Wonderful place, but with little infrastructure and signalling, hindering access to you don't want or can't hire a guide. Worth every minute of the Waterfalls.

  • From the dirt road will have in the middle of the track two bars of iron or aluminum, just turn right and then keep left (2 times). Has a Lord who takes care of the cars, he even tells you to contribute what you can and indicates the beginning of the trail. On the trail just go down the River from the left side. Go to tab if it is lost on the trails and not know what it's like to be in the wild. I did all the rides high with normal car and without Guide. Watch only if it is raining cats and dogs.
