4.9/5 based on 110+ reviews on the web
Hercegovacka Gracanica serves as a replica of the Serbian monastery Gracanica, and it's also the eternal home to Jovan Ducic, a Serbian poet, writer, and diplomat. The original 14th-century church was built in Kosovo as an endowment by Serbian medieval King Stefan Milutin. Its replica was erected in 2000 as a memorial to the famous local poet. The poet's remains were brought from the United States and buried in the monastery's crypt. Notice the decorations on the floor, which resemble the ornaments from the Prizren floor--a rare remaining fragment of another church built by the only Serbian emperor, Dusan the Mighty. The monastery complex includes a bishop's palace, library, amphitheater, and summer garden. The hill offers one of the best views of the city, the river, and the Ottoman bridge. The monastery is located on the mountain and offer a magnificent view of the city of Trebinje! The area around the monastery is very green and clean! At the time of the visit of the monastery there was carried out and service the priest knocked the lights from above! It was fascinating! Near the monastery is the Church Bell Tower, shop! • So much has already been written about Gracanica, particularly Hercegovačku and add nothing. Of course this is important, perhaps on a par with the monastery Tvrdos why tourists come in Trebinje. Oh and if you fate fills in these edges, then certainly in Graçanicë/Gračanica is worth a visit, if certainly religious construction, how excellent viewing platform, which offers a very nice view of the Trebinje!

  • Herzegovinian Gračanica is a replica of the church of the Gračanica Monastery in Kosovo. The greatest Serbian poet and diplomat Jovan Dučić was buried here. This is a jewel of Serbian Orthodox culture and spirituality.
  • Even if you're not interested in seeing the monastery, it's worth coming here for the tranquility and the spectacular view of the town and the mountains. Absolutely beautiful.
  • Beautiful church on the beautiful place.
  • Marvelous place
