At Baščaršija square amid a Middle Eastern-style market, Sebilj Brunnen (Fountain) represents a pseudo-Ottoman wooden fountain that dates from 1754. Although the original one burned in 1852, the fountain was reconstructed and the current version dates back to 1891. Visit the spot to see where travelers used to refresh themselves: a government official would be appointed to stand there and fill pots with water, which he would then give free to anyone who was thirsty. Today, the fountain is one of the favorite photographic spots in Sarajevo. • After I enjoyed a great Turkish coffee served with Turkish delights, I walked along the small shops with souvenirs.than walked to the fountain on my tour in the old ancient Sarajevo.
  • It's a pretty fountain, but it just doesn't scream wow to me. It's something notice when going through Bascarsija, but not the most memorable thing to see in Sarajevo.
