  • So this is the flash point of the First World War. Seems remarkable that so much carnage should have emanated from this spot. The nearby museum is worth a visit.
  • Although a fairly plain looking bridge, it stands as a reminder of one of the darkest episodes of human history. It is worth standing and taking a moment to hope we never repeat this part of our past. Sadly Sarajevo bore witness to another episode of the darkest side of humanity. It is up to the rest of the world to make sure this can never happen again.
  • Bitan dio historije Sarajeva.
  • This is a place to remember, anyone should know where and what started the first World War. On June 28, 1914 at the turning from the Right Bank into a street Gavrilo Princip shot and killed Franz Ferdinand, heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne. This was the immediate cause for the beginning of the Furst World War. The bridge was renamed after Princip during the Yugoslavian era and renamed back to the Latin Bridge after the Yugoslavia wars.
  • If you are in Sarajevo, you should definitely see the Latin Bridge. It's fairly close to city center. Latin Bridge is the location of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand sparking the start of WWI.
  • Nice old bridge with some well known history...
