Koskin-Mehmed Pasha's Mosque, Mostar

(3.8/5 based on 240+ reviews on the web)
Koskin-Mehmed Pasha's Mosque dates back to 1617 and features numerous multicolored windows, a minaret with a lookout spot, and a courtyard with several tombs. Enter the gardens and walk around to observe the Ottoman architecture. Although the original mosque was heavily damaged during the attacks of the 1990s, it has been restored, and today the site radiates peace. Climb the 89-step staircase in the minaret to get some of the best views of the bridge in town. • very must-see thing in Mostar. if you are able to, climb the minaret, do so - it is totally worth it.
  • Compared to other mosques is less impressive, has fewer works of art, spread not the Maystik and spirituality inside as expected, but a lot of special features: the also enclosed cemetery, the walk-through Minaret and especially the location next to the river Neretva and the views of the bridge.

  • Traveling in Bosnia there are hundreds of the most beautiful mosques and less "tourist trap". The inner courtyard hosts yet another little shop of cinesate, the Interior of the mosque is messy and overgrown (the plastic inside and vacuumed parked in the niche of a window are sketchy). Suffice it to say that it is not even more asked to remove their shoes. On the other hand the entrance (without ascending to the Minaret) costs three times more than that at the Grand Mosque in Sarajevo. I am not a Muslim, but I think something is an insult to Islam
