Crooked Bridge (Kriva Cuprija), Mostar
(4.2/5 based on 130+ reviews on the web)
Crooked Bridge (Kriva Cuprija) was designed and built as a test model for the construction of the bigger and more famous Old Bridge. The Turks built the model to see whether a bridge with such a semicircular stone arch could withstand loads. The bridge was mentioned for the first time in the endowment of a wealthy merchant, Cejvan Cehaja, in 1558, which means that it was built at least eight years before the Old Bridge. Climb the stone steps on either side of the bridge and walk over its cobblestoned path. The arch is a perfect semicircle measuring 8.56 m (28 ft) wide and 4.15 m (13.6 ft) tall. Floods destroyed the bridge in 2001, but it was rebuilt on the initiative of UNESCO. • It is easy to overlook this bridge in favour of it's bigger sibling, but don't; it is in a quaint lovely area and is a wonderfully intimate setting for a very pleasant view.

  • This is the best hotel in Mostar. Being located not only in the most magical spot of the Old part of the City of Mostar overlooking the old town architecture including the small bridge Kriva Cuprija as well as the river Rado bolja. It has amazing rooms with top of the line bathrooms and the service is amazing. Has wifi in the rooms, lcd tv's, a/c or heat, and a balcony overlooking the old town. I have been in the hotel twice and is the only hotel I would choose when visiting Mostar not only because of its location which you can't get anywhere else but also the cleanliness and the service.
  • Lovely stuff ... historic place ... perfect location
  • Rooms not clean enough, details, car was park on wrong place blocking other people All together 2 stars
  • Excellent apartment with very friendly staff. Would highly recommend! Right next to the old bridge and with free parking and modern rooms.
