Boca Slagbaai, Washington-Slagbaai National Park

(3.6/5 based on 110+ reviews on the web)
Adventure the rough roads as they wind through the dramatic terrain of Boca Slagbaai, a remote beach and dive spot. It's a long drive to get there, but you'll reap the rewards of a teeming marine life, good swimming, and the gorgeous color of the water. Back on land, you may spot a range of different critters, from goats and donkeys to exotic reptiles and birds, including flamingos. Due to the remoteness of the location and the lack of services (with the exception of onsite restrooms), bring lots of water and snacks to keep you going. • BOKA SLAGBAAI: is at the northern tip of the island, within the National Park of the same name. An indentation in the coast, drawing cutting wide, with a wall on the right. It blew a little. We decided to go down a little further (we went swimming but already equipped) on the buoy. We went down and the water was tampered with, but still with good visibility. This day was that of lionfish. Are beautiful, but are a plague, considered invasive species is pursued and shot, here. As in all Caribbean. But here you need a guide on the side. We swam a lot and in the shallows, average 7 to 15 meters, was the most lasting and dip we did. Corky, against. But we managed to navigate well. The dive itself lasted 72 minutes of submersion. We're both. We turned it around in the wall and then we were nearing the corals to return in a beautiful garden of soft corals. No longer raining.

  • On the last place to dive, we celebrate the bottles on the back and go down. The boys (22 + 24) go snorkeling and jump from hilltop down, the turquoise water. Very nice place for scuba diving, snorkeling, jumping and taking pictures of the surroundings with flamingos on the other side.

  • This beach is within the National Park and is excellent for spending the day. Has no structure, just bathrooms ... We suggest you take your cooler with water, sandwich, fruits, etc. There are many rocks in the sand, but you can extend the yoke and sunbathe. Is very good for snorkeling too.
