The Cadushy Distillery, Rincon

(4.7/5 based on 360+ reviews on the web)
Rest in a tranquil, shaded garden while tasting the world's only liquor made of cactus at The Cadushy Distillery. The liqueur uses the Kadushi cactus as its distinct ingredient, a native plant of the island also used to make a cactus soup. The cactus is combined with fresh lime juice for a tasty tropical drink. The distillery offers a variety of other exotic liquors and basics including rum, whiskey, and vodka. Expect flocks of parrots and hummingbirds in the Calbas trees above to accompany you while you drink. • A nice stop on our tour of Bonaire. A lovely garden setting to taste the cactus liqueur. After the free tasting, we all enjoyed a $5 cocktail. I had the green liqueur with Sprite. Very tasty. Others e...  more »

  • Friendly welcome and explanation of the distillery. We found the cactus called liquer not tasty but according to the owner, we heard at the 1 percent who are not comfortable. 99 percent would be like. We wanted to buy something so we bought 2 boxes in which the tea is processed caduchy. 1 box costs $10. When they return home in the already small box shows a much smaller bag with exactly 30 grams of tea! We felt pretty ripped off! It turns out to be green or rooibos tea to which caduchyschil added some dried pieces. The rooibos tea tastes like light to rooibos and nothing else. The green tea tastes really nowhere to. What a disappointment ... Sale so no tea!

  • Pretty cool to learn the history and sample the only cactus liquor in the world. Something you must do even if you aren't really a drinker. If you don't have checked luggage you can purchase bottles that will fit in a quart zip lock your carry on (at am angel). Best one to use is the zip lock with a flat bottom. Also the Cactus teas in loose leaf form, can be purchased but not sampled. The teas don't need to be checked or in a zip lock for your carry on.
  • Cool little distillery where the owners give you a quick tour and serve free samples of there local liqueur
  • Loved this place! Got an interesting, informative and funny explanation of the process Cadushy uses to make it's products from Petri. Tasted most of their products and brought home a bottle of the Reserve Rum (Fantastic rum!) and 6 small bottles of the Island Liqueurs. Wife loves the Liqueurs and I love it all! Recommend the tour and their products! Only wish I could order online!
  • Cactus spirits is different and delicious. Who knew you could do this, and rum? Stop by and taste.
  • What a great establishment. The "tour" was very interesting and the samples were delicious. Timmy was a fantastic host.
