There is a BS15 to visit the church, museum and cloisters, but annoyingly, they will also charge BS5 for photography. Only after you've paid the BS5 do they tell you there's no photography allowed any...  more »

We pay 15 bolivianos to enter and more 5 to take pictures, but only of the garden and the outside of the building. The Museum has two floors, with images and the other with paintings discovered there are 4 years and restored, financed by a German. Today 27 nuns living in solitude, but came to have 300 in the past. In one of the lounges is a small door to the Church and the choir where the nuns, behind a truss, sang; people only listened, they watched them not. Currently sell products made by them like candy, cookies, make restoration of religious pieces, trays and other parts. They have a House of teas, "Casita" which opens every day at four and sell empanadas, famous, and other products you can get through the system of "wheel", like that of children given up for adoption in the old days. Well worth the visit and the person who accompanied us is very attentive.

Where to stay in Sucre

With building restrictions in place for decades, the city of Sucre has developed a little differently than most other cities on the continent. However, the touristic appeal of Sucre has driven up demand for accommodations--now slotted in old, colonial-era buildings rather than new-build high-rises. This development ethos has worked well, with lodgings in Sucre's center among the most comfortable and characterful in the country. Exclusive options cluster around the town's prettiest plazas, with grand rooms and fine-dining restaurants. Budget-minded visitors should explore the range of posadas (guesthouses), set in modest formerly residential buildings on the town's side streets.
