  • This museum is worth a visit for the purpose of knowledge both on history of Bolivia and of materials and precious metals. Held together with a guide who takes away all our doubts, the visit has an air of suspense, as the lights of the displays are lit one at a time according to the instructions of the Guide. All this makes it more exciting and increases the expectation to know what will be the next attraction and what she must have. I recommend visit, but ... never buy a Ametrine (the rock that really caught my attention, since the others already knew) somewhere outside the Museum. Probably you will pay much less for her! Just a tip

  • The visit to this museum is really excellent. The french guide David is really very good. One feels that he is passionate about what he says, it teaches us many things all with humor and without rushed to it which is your nice. The visit is exciting, we learn many things on the Bolivia mining history and the wealth of this country but also on the living conditions of the miners and the past before Spanish colonization. A visit not to be missed to sugar!

  • Interesting tour, good guide and the museum itself has a cool set up. Don't forget the jeweler shop at the end!
  • Good museum, very professional English speaking guide, and well organized.
  • It's quite a small museum, but offers interesting history and information about the area and mining industry in the country. The entrance fee is 25 bol and includes a guided tour, which lasts about 45 minutes. English tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely go for this when in Sucre!

Where to stay in Sucre

With building restrictions in place for decades, the city of Sucre has developed a little differently than most other cities on the continent. However, the touristic appeal of Sucre has driven up demand for accommodations--now slotted in old, colonial-era buildings rather than new-build high-rises. This development ethos has worked well, with lodgings in Sucre's center among the most comfortable and characterful in the country. Exclusive options cluster around the town's prettiest plazas, with grand rooms and fine-dining restaurants. Budget-minded visitors should explore the range of posadas (guesthouses), set in modest formerly residential buildings on the town's side streets.
