  • The Museum was worth by the collection of masks. Unfortunately these have moved and his work now at the Ethnographic Museum of la Paz. Result: there is nothing to see here.

  • When you visit the Museum together with my traveling companion, trying to follow the directions of the passersby who had no idea where it was located, could arrive. We learned about three lines: collection of masks, itinerant art exhibitions and the great wisdom that boast the Andean cultures. We accompany a very friendly gentleman, that we told about artists, their works, and many other questions that I did, on Bolivia. He had the patience of a Saint, we left the place very happy, it is free, unfortunately could not take photographs is not permitted inside, but it's better, because to enter and see the large collection of you marcaras, you are hallucinating. It made me remember the work of painter and muralist INTI. Fully recommended, if you want to learn about the Andean culture in Sucre!

  • This museum is in the heart of Sucre, in the street of the banks. It is free and has a fairly comprehensive sample of the masks that used different Bolivian indigenous cultures in their dances. It also has an exhibition on the chipaya who are very good culture. It takes little time strolling this Museum and is highly recommended.

Where to stay in Sucre

With building restrictions in place for decades, the city of Sucre has developed a little differently than most other cities on the continent. However, the touristic appeal of Sucre has driven up demand for accommodations--now slotted in old, colonial-era buildings rather than new-build high-rises. This development ethos has worked well, with lodgings in Sucre's center among the most comfortable and characterful in the country. Exclusive options cluster around the town's prettiest plazas, with grand rooms and fine-dining restaurants. Budget-minded visitors should explore the range of posadas (guesthouses), set in modest formerly residential buildings on the town's side streets.
