A very good way to discover sugar from above! Attention it is currently in the works, the tiles are renewed and is not a luxury. But she is always accessible.

Plaza located in one of the highest points of the city, with a beautiful gazebo where you can chat, drink, eat, and enjoy the sunset and the view from above the town.

A simple stroll up the hill. It was just 12 minutes from my hostel to catch the sunrise. The view from La Recolecta was pretty good but there is a nearby hotel that offers a much better view.

It could be a better vantage point, the mirador restaurant captures a little view of the city. The museo de la Recoleta not allowed to take pictures of the most interesting part of the Museum which is located in the convent. The dusty high choir seats to be a place of tourists and to admire the engravings. There isn't much to see.

I love this place, offers a view without equal of the wonderful city of Sucre, is a historical place and the only one to be there among its façades is a unique experience.

Where to stay in Sucre

With building restrictions in place for decades, the city of Sucre has developed a little differently than most other cities on the continent. However, the touristic appeal of Sucre has driven up demand for accommodations--now slotted in old, colonial-era buildings rather than new-build high-rises. This development ethos has worked well, with lodgings in Sucre's center among the most comfortable and characterful in the country. Exclusive options cluster around the town's prettiest plazas, with grand rooms and fine-dining restaurants. Budget-minded visitors should explore the range of posadas (guesthouses), set in modest formerly residential buildings on the town's side streets.
