Cal Orck'o, Sucre

3.5
Walk the paths where dinosaurs once roamed on a tour at Cal Orck'o. This park displays fossilized dinosaur tracks that have been well preserved throughout the ages--including over 5,000 tracks of nearly 300 species of dinosaurs. As you enter, you'll see re-creations of the dinosaurs in lifelike statues at the front of the park to match the footprints. A tour of the attraction takes you relatively close to the prints, which are left in stone. Be careful to check before you head to the park, as not all tours are given in English. • I went to the complementarity with what I had seen traces of dinosaurs in Toro Toro. This extensive Park of the city centre (place Mayo, take a taxi by negotiating the price) in a cement plant has to worry to be... the deposits of Earth at the bottom of the huge wall of the traces of dinosaurs had yet taken place the week prior to my visit. The wall of prints part guided tour, the rest is anecdotal.

  • The parque Certacico is good to reach 4 or by local bus from mercado central line. Very interesting to see and I had a very charming guide with JC. He has made the tour very informative and exciting. Very much recommended.

  • It's the famous plate that has many dinasour tracks on it. Do be careful on tour timings otherwise you might not get to get a close up look. (9am and 1am the day I went) would have preferred if there were more English description plates but none the less it was beautiful if your into this stuff. Sad though that wall is slowly breaking through time.
  • Nice cretaceous park
  • You can see very nice but only by issuance of the Cretaceous park

Where to stay in Sucre

With building restrictions in place for decades, the city of Sucre has developed a little differently than most other cities on the continent. However, the touristic appeal of Sucre has driven up demand for accommodations--now slotted in old, colonial-era buildings rather than new-build high-rises. This development ethos has worked well, with lodgings in Sucre's center among the most comfortable and characterful in the country. Exclusive options cluster around the town's prettiest plazas, with grand rooms and fine-dining restaurants. Budget-minded visitors should explore the range of posadas (guesthouses), set in modest formerly residential buildings on the town's side streets.
