Architectural Building
Visit San Francisco of Potosi Convent and Temple, Bolivia's oldest religious complex. Originally constructed in 1547, it was demolished due to its inadequate size and then rebuilt in 1707. The church features two towers and an outdoor temple. Step inside to see the interior full of Baroque ornamentation, and look for the image of Christ of Vera Cruz, dating from 1550. Climb to the top of the church towers or up to the convent roof for panoramic views over the city and the nearby mountain. • The Franciscan order, was one of the first to arrive in Potosí. By this your architecture, and all their content material and symbolic is of an interest very precious. The visit lasts almost an hour, where you can enter to different places in the convent, among them, the catacombs, the Church, the works of art of keeping the temple, and climb the Bell Tower of the Church, where you can walk around the eight domes, from where it is possible to have a view of the impressive Potosí.

  • It is not that the convent lacks history or architectural appeal. But if you have already gone to other sites like can know to repeated. The remarkable thing: it has a large number of paintings by the most famous potosino artist, Melchor Pérez de Holguín (tenebrism religious figure) climb to the vantage point allows us to appreciate the typical architecture and original from the 18th century on the roofs of the convent and has an excellent view of the old town and the rich Hill. The crypts have their charm for fans of the macabre. 20 Bs, it is a recommended visit
