Catedral de la Ciudad de Potosi, Potosi
(4/5 based on 85 reviews on the web)
A relic of the 19th century, Catedral de la Ciudad de Potosi boasts a mix of Baroque and neoclassical styles. The minor basilica was built of stones and two bricks, with a dome and two towers. Step inside to find relics of silver and gold, as well as views of the surrounding cities from the bell towers. Though you may find the grand facade somewhat bare, the ornate interior compensates with white pillars and gold accents. Strictly speaking, you can only access the church during scheduled masses--otherwise you'll have to plead with the groundskeeper during off times. • I went to the square and was the greatest excitement. The press interviewed people around and in the middle of the square was happening an event with children. I didn't stay long enough to understand what was going on, but I found a super nice place, busy, and if you go to Potosí don't let go.

  • The Church, still consecrated, it no longer religious functions in the program. Now it has become a Museum, admission is 20 Bolivians. Really recommend it to climb to the top of the campanile ... You will enjoy an exceptional view over the whole city. Alongside the entrance there is a small mausoleum with hundreds of human bones, hips, spine and other ... The entrance is at the back.
