  • The main reason why I visit Oruro no doubt is to see the image of "the mommy of the tunnel", the sanctuary is a mystical place, where you can breathe positive energy, countless number of people reach this Sanctuary all year round and year after year, devotees dancers present faith offering to the patron saint of the pit on the occasion of the famous Carnival of Oruro. Excellent location for religious tourism.

  • Visit the Santuario del Socavón is an experience that I recommend to learn more about our Lady of the dancers and miners, with a temple of peculiar architecture and very striking paintings. In addition to the painting of the Virgin Mary which is very nice, and when one ends of the temple and goes to the bottom can visit the mining museum, where for a small fee you can go down to a tunnel, learn about the development of small-scale mining in Bolivia and see "Uncle". Very interesting

  • It is beautiful, but in the middle of the Carnival, for the crowd it is impossible to reach him, unless you're a dancer.
