  • The story relates that the night of July 15, 1809, in one of the homes of the calle Cruz Verde (today calle Jaén) of the city of La Paz, was held the last meeting of revolutionaries led by Pedro Domingo Murillo that hours later, on the evening of July 16, would act. In the House were important and latest provisions for the attack that started the juliana revolution. In order to pass unnoticed, the Patriots entered home by different access, managing to gather in the piece that today is known as the Salon of the conspiracy. The Board concluded, revolutionaries retreated to their domiciles with specific tasks that should be at the foot of the letter hours later.  The House that left the Patriots today known as Murillo's House Museum, where the spaces where the La Paz hero spent his last hours, before being sentenced to the gallows is preserved.  The idea remained firm until 1909, when marked 100 years of the revolution of July 16. It was then that the data began to be questioned by historians, researchers and other scholars: do the Museum Casa Murillo, belonged to Pedro Domingo Murillo?  In 1963, the writer Ana Rivera Sotomayor, through research, established that the building was only attributed to Murillo and that it never belonged to the Protomartyr. The real owner of the House was José Ramón de Loayza.  The version immediately unleashed two positions: that of those who claimed that the Museum Casa Murillo belonged to the hero and who pointed out that the property belonged to José Ramón de Loayza, and that Murillo was behind the Church of Santo Domingo, in the calle Ingavi old street Santo Domingo.

  • Beautiful place, where I liked to see the oratory and a bedroom that shows most to the public

  • Simple and interesting Museum. However, anywhere there is a sign where is prohibited to take photographs. We want to remember the content of the Museum because there is no panfleto-resumen, took some photos of texts. Photos without flash without any pretense, only to remember the contents of the Museum and avoid having to memorize it. Awesomely after taking photos, a police us screamed and forced us to delete all pictures and threatened us in seize us the mobile if we didn't. With a lack of regard enormous, unable to understand that if there is a sign explicitly prohibiting photographs, how demons will I know that I must do? In addition, to which logic answers the fact prohibit taking pictures? Is it not disseminate and share culture? My partner and not we are left speechless after paying our entry and this derogatory treatment. Demeaning attitude of the police and absurd prohibition from the Government of Bolivia.
