The stadium is located in the Miraflores borough of La Paz, at an altitude of 3,637 metres (11,932 feet) above sea level, making it one of the highest professional stadiums in the world. The Stadium was opened in 1931 with a match between The Strongest and its classic rival, Universitario, with The Strongest winning 4–1. It is the home ground of three major Bolivian league football clubs, Club Bolivar, The Strongest and La Paz F.C. as well as several smaller top sides: Universitario de La Paz, Chaco Petrolero and Mariscal Braun. The stadium also host lower league clubs: Fraternidad Tigres and Academia de Balompié Boliviano.HistoryThe stadium has been the site of historic moments in Bolivian football history, including Bolivia's 2–0 defeat of Brazil in the 1993 qualifiers for 1994 World Cup, Brazil's first defeat in 40 years of playing the qualifiers. Another such moment of this history occurred on April 1, 2009 when Bolivia defeated Argentina 6–1, inflicting the worst defeat for Argentina in 60 years. 6 months after, on October 11 (in the same qualifying group for 2010 World Cup), Bolivia defeated 2–1 an underweight Brazil.

  • For those who really love football, worth knowing the Hernando Siles, always cited as the stadium of altitude. With the new Brazilian arenas, he looks like an old stadium, but it's saved, have chairs in all the stands. Access is very easy, many vans come to him, just to see the plates written Stadium. As it is quite close to the Centre, it is also possible to walk, it's about 25/30 minutes from the church square San Francisco. I saw two games there, one of the Strongest for the Libertadores and another of Bolivar by the Bolivian League. Tickets vary between 15 and 75 reais and are sold on the same day. For both games bought with 1 hour in advance, without queues. The stadium is great and does not usually fill in common games.

  • Any football fan should visit the Hernando Siles Stadium in a classic between Bolivar and The Strongest. the recommendation would be not to go to curves since it is a dangerous thing, but preference and straight are OK.

  • Stayed very near the stadium and I call the attention the amount of fans enthusiastic with the event, much joy but without disorder. Fed up with food in the street Fireworks and chants. A party for locals and visitors

  • Once a Monument the stadium has not been well kept. non the less, enjoying a futbol match between either of the local teams (Bolivar or The Strongest) is always something to do. If you are in town for "Clasico Paceño" then you must attend. More than the game the crowd makes it special
  • Great when there's a football match on involving one of the two big local clubs: Bolivar (La Academia) or The Strongest (Tigre). Especially great when these two play the local derby. Don't expect a quality match, but do expect both teams and their fans to give it their all in typical South American fashion.
  • Stadium for big event, soccer field,
  • Very god atmosphere😊 Greetings from Denmark in Scandinavia (Europe)
  • Amazing place to watch Soccer
