  • A beautifully set Textile Museum, where they have a collection of Royal Dresses. The short documentary gives you a clear picture of how rich textile is in Bhutan. It is a dying art in other parts of the country and very few people get to see. Here at Royal textile you can see live weaving. it is a great place
  • Very good to see this textile museum which is very neat and clean. Live weaving of textile articles is also a good thing to see.
  • Textile museum is excellent; unfortunately no photography; clean and well-lit museum; absolute must-see in Thimpu; Nu 50 admission fee for Indian nationals
  • Interesting place. Nice if you want to know about history of textile in Bhutan.
  • Great place to learn Bhutanese history. It has frequent exhibitions of different backgrounds....

Where to stay in Thimphu

As the capital, Thimphu features the largest range of accommodations in the kingdom. Only opening up to international tourism in the 1970's, the list remains relatively small, but the city remains in a period of development, so more options are arriving each year. Take a look along Norzim Lam, the main thoroughfare, for a number of small hotels, both budget and standard. Located close to the main attractions in the city, and overlooking the most attractive public plazas and parks, a small number of charming hotels offer mid-range and luxury rooms, with additional facilities such as pools.
