Library
Tour literary heritage at National Library and Archives of Bhutan, a collection of rare books and photographs. Set in a traditionally designed four-story temple with a small ornate shrine on every floor, the library preserves xylographic blocks, manuscripts, and microfilms important to Bhutanese heritage. Established in 1967, the library also houses the largest certified published book in the world, at 1.52 m (5 ft) high and 2.13 m (7 ft) wide, weighing 60.32 kg (133 lb). Photos of the royal family are hung from the walls, and you can buy souvenirs in the bookshop. • Unfortunately it is closed on festival days. So we got to enjoy its exterior and nice gardens around. Typical Bhutanese style architecture.  more »

  • A collection of old Archive. The most interesting about it is they have the largest book which was recorded in the Genius Book of World Record.
  • typical bhutanese building, with wooden floors inside; can see the world's largest book on the ground floor; otherwise just casually roam around, with nothing particular, but see some pictures of Dzongs of Bhutan
  • It has the richest collection of books on Buddhism, history and culture of Bhutan.
  • The heart of word and wisdom. But people don't visit it as expected. Have to find out why, and must work on how to make it popular among people.
  • Good library and you can see archives of Bhutan here. One can also witness a man making masks and phallus outside the building.
