Photography is not allowed here. A nice little view into the life of an rich Bhutanese family from ancient times. The exhibits are a little worn, however there is good explanation of everything for people it rested in the details of their life. We were given fresh rice puffs and their traditional alcohol is also present for tasting for those interested. There was live demo of making of rice puffs and traditional Bhutanese weaving.

Didn't get to see the museum however the restaurant was great .. excellent prices but the food choice was a bit limited. Couldn't fault the service wow ... speedy and precise. Watch out if you are sensitive to chilis and salt ...

Nice place to visit to see and feel the ancient life of Bhutanese and their lives. Really enjoyable. There is also a restaurant inside the complex. Foods are tasty but prices are little bit higher.

Very authentic Bhutanese heritage preserved well amidst mad urban rush for development and growth. Once inside the campus you literally feel like you are transportation back in time.

Where to stay in Thimphu

As the capital, Thimphu features the largest range of accommodations in the kingdom. Only opening up to international tourism in the 1970's, the list remains relatively small, but the city remains in a period of development, so more options are arriving each year. Take a look along Norzim Lam, the main thoroughfare, for a number of small hotels, both budget and standard. Located close to the main attractions in the city, and overlooking the most attractive public plazas and parks, a small number of charming hotels offer mid-range and luxury rooms, with additional facilities such as pools.
