Town Hall Square, St. George

(4.1/5 based on 70+ reviews on the web)
In the World Heritage-listed town center, Town Hall Square serves an excellent spot to get in touch with St. George's rich culture. Start with the square's town hall, where you can learn about the history of the area going back to the 17th century. Follow that up with a visit to the river, a short walk from the square, and watch the traditional short plays, which serve as reenactments of actual customs from the past. Grab a snack at one of the small coffee shops and enjoy it on a tree-shaded bench. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Town Hall Square by using our St. George trip builder.

  • Ringing in the new year at the town hall is an awesome experience. There is so much fun bringing in the new year and experiencing the onion drop.
  • My wife and I saw the square at Christmas and it looked very beautiful with all of the lights. Not sure how it would appear on an ordinary day, but it was worth a few minutes of exploration.
  • A very interesting place to drop by for a short visit. One of the town counselors happened to be there and gave us a short history lesson on the place. Very nice!
