  • This is not your normal museum that you are used to. While there are exhibits that you can browse, there are no staff to assist or available for questions. In fact we did not see anyone working there except the gate. The ground is an open space and pleasantly relaxing.
  • This is an excellent museum in a beautiful location. The buildings are very well preserved and there is information covering the whole span of Bermuda's inhabited history. The mural in the old mansion on the hill is excellent as it covers events from the initial discovery through present. The grounds are well maintained and the location provides excellent panoramas. I would strongly recommend a visit. There is also a dolphin experience on the grounds. If you want to swim with them there's an extra charge, but no charge to look at them.
  • This museum has some fascinating displays. The items pulled up from old shipwrecks show you so much about how people lived, and there is plenty of info available to describe the artifacts. We visited in October, and the weather was perfect for wandering around the grounds and exploring the old fortress. The walk around the outdoor spaces was refreshing after spending so much time on a cruise ship. And the views from the top of the fortress were phenomenal!
  • We walked around the whole grounds and in most of the buildings. It was really cool to learn about Bermuda's history, and I particularly liked learning that the German u-boat was secretly captured and kept in dock (disguised) during the war. I have been in that sub when visiting Chicago...so it was nice to connect the dots. So far as the museum goes, it was quiet, had many exhibits and lots of information to read. There are bathrooms in the main building too. If you pay admission, you can watch the dolphins that people pay money to swim with. We most enjoyed hiking around the grounds. Watch out for animal poop, there was a lot in some areas ....and cacti as well.
  • I have been going to Bermuda for 30 years , I have family living here , and this was the first time going to this museum. It was a great experience and something every tourist should go and see
