Military Museum Historic Site
Gaze over the Hamilton harbour from Fort Hamilton, a fort originally built in the 1870s to protect the harbour from possible attacks by American forces. Today it offers wonderful views of the bay and surrounding landscape. Bring some food and have a picnic among the wonderful mixture of tropical plant life that lines the maintained lawns. Relax in the sun to the sounds of a ceremonial bagpipe performance, followed by an informative presentation on the fort's history. • An absolute gem and must visit. This old fort is a short walk from central Hamilton, and has great views along with tranquil gardens. The whole area is kept beautifully, with nice lawns and gardens on top (take a picnic!) and a jungle with walkway in the old moat.
  • Awesome views, historic fortifications and dungeons and a moat all worth exploring. A must visit. Bring a picnic.
  • Great view of Hamilton and the moat is a mini botanical gardens. No admission fee.
