  • This was one of the most incredible experience I've ever had. Seeing the few temples that we saw on our trip was amazing. They are well preserved, and so impressive to stand by. It was also awesome to walk up on top of the high temple. We also saw some wildlife, like a howler monkey and some lizards. It was really impressive and I'd love to go back and visit.
  • This is a beautiful site with numerous excavated temples and great birding. Nice people running the museum and souvenir shops also. It's also off the beaten path so not nearly as crowded as some of the Mayan and Aztec temple sites can be. Well worth a visit.
  • I can't say enough about our guide Elvis. The man loves his country and this excursion. He will do anything to ensure every person present enjoys themselves. The bus ride is a bit long, but not terrible. The boat ride is pretty much just that. The tour can seem a bit rushed from temple to temple, but Elvis wants you to spend ample time at each of the 3 ruins you will see that day. The 2 Myan guides at the ruins were fantastic. I am a somewhat picky eater, but I thought lunch was very good. My wife really liked it as well. This was a very nice excursion, well worth every penny. I almost forgot to mention, you get to climb to the top of one of the temples!
  • Very cool ancient ruins, you can climb some of them for a pretty nice view. However, it seems to be lacking in information. Without our guide we would have had little context for the buildings. Additionally, a lot of the buildings have not yet been uncovered. Also, howler monkeys/baboons make loud noises throughout the walk, which gives it quite the atmosphere.
  • These Mayan ruins are amazing! The hike through the forest to get to each ruin is beautiful and the trails are well maintained. The Mask Temple with its restored masks is an excellent photo opportunity. The climb to the top of the High Temple is steep, but they have installed a wooden stairway around back that make the climb much safer. The Jaguar temple is another impressive site that you just don't want to miss.
