The smell of pine trees in the air and the sounds of wild animals, murmuring creeks, and rivers make Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve an enchanting destination for outdoor activities. You can ride a horse, drive a car, or hike along muddy trails through the green, mountainous scenery. The largest complex of Mayan ruins in Belize, located within the reserve, attracts visitors for its beauty and mysticism. Check out the Rio Frio cave and dip in the crystal clear mountain water at the base of Big Rock Falls. You can arrange a guided tour at the park. • This is a very different area than the rest of Belize and is worth the visit to the area. For Bird Watchers this is the only area in Belize you will see...yes...Acorn Woodpeckers.
  • Tons of free sight seeing. Quiet with very little traffic in the off season. Some of the sights you can go see are breath taking. I can't wait to go back!
  • Amazing place in the jungle. Nice waterfalls, wild animals and so much to see!
  • There is quite a bit to do here. Whether you are visiting Francis Coppola's Bleaucaneux Lodge to Big Rock Falls, off road riding, Rio Frio pools, 1000ft falls there is much to see here. It's also on the way to Caracol, Belize's greatest Mayan Pyramids.
  • Loads of waterfalls, rivers, and other places to visit including the two hydroelectric dams, and loads of hiking trails.
  • Mountains, lots of view, bumpy road
