  • We visited Rio Frio Cave, Rio Frio Pools, and Big Rock Falls. The highlight of the day was stoping at First Stop and having a breakfast burrito. It’s after you turn at San Antonio and wonder if your g...  more »
  • Very surprising this great forest of pine trees in the middle of the jungle. A southern atmosphere of France, with a stunning nature. There are several caves to visit and you can swim in the River at different points on your way. Take a guide it's safer, and it will bring you directly to the points to visit. Otherwise you may take you so the forest is large. To get there it takes 1 h 30 drive on paths of Bush

  • We visited 6 different waterfalls and they were all pristine and worth the effort. Some, are very accessible such as Big Rock and Rio On Pools, others don't even have a name and are definitely off the...  more »

  • With a tour guide, this place is great. We went here specifically for bird watching and were able to see approximately 70 species of birds. It such a big place that you definitely need a vehicle to drive around. The roads are just as interesting as the rest of the place! There are sweeping vistas, dense forests, and a lot of wildlife. If you are looking for a day away from everything, this is a great locale!
  • A huge forest with stunning scenery, many attractions and free entry. I visited one of the more accessible areas, the Rio on Pools - easy to park and not very crowded. Opportunity to swim in a waterfall after a short, steep downhill walk. Note that roads leading to forest are bumpy and you will have to go slow, took a very long time to get from main roads to forest -- 4 wheel drive highly recommended. You will also be stopped on the way to have your license plate recorded.
  • Nice area with a few interesting natural attractions such as Big Rock Falls and Rio On Pools. You'll need a 4WD vehicle to get around and budget plenty of time for slow driving on very rough roads. Some of the low narrow bridges might get flooded during or after heavy rains so check the weather before heading here. Free admission but have to stop at the entrance gate so they can record your car plate and ask for your destination.
  • Beautiful nature in the mountains with numerous waterfalls that you can visit
  • Great place for camping trips
