  • This was a very special trip for my husband and I and our 4 teenage - young adult children. We stayed 3 nights and did crystal cave and cave kayaking. Francis and Walter were our guides for Crystal Cave. We hiked through the jungle for 45 minutes before entering the cave. Walter showed us many interesting things along the way. We saw a rare bird a tarantula with her egg sack, an aguana and other things! The Crystal Cave is beautiful and so interesting. It is not like the American tourist caves with a smooth walking surface. No, this is much more fun! You get to slide down, climb, swing around and pull up!! If you love adventure, don't mind sweating and desire to know and respect other cultures, this is for you! The lunch was awesome and so humbling to watch these men serve us as they chopped fresh vegetables right there in the cave. We went swimming at the blue whole at the end. WOW! How beautiful and refreshing!! Hosea and Wilmer were our quides for Cave Kayaking. This was a blast. It was so beautiful and fun. Hosea and Wilmer know every twist and turn of this river and did many things to make it enjoyable. We took a little hike through the jungle to visit a cave that had very interesting historical significance. We had lunch at the most beautiful spot in a cave which opened out to the jungle. We went during the dry season so there were no problems getting through the caves. After our jungle trip we went to caye Caulker for a week and had a great time but on the last night at dinner we went around the table and each person shared what they loved the most about our trip and the top three things were cave kayaking, snorkeling and Crystal Cave with Crystal Cave being #1. And I believe it was #1 not just because of the challenge, the beauty and fun but because of the relational connections made with Walter and Francis. My children absolutely loved Walter and his intelligent, fun loving quick witt. Francis was very good at helping my husband, who has a prosthetic leg, manuver through the cave and keep him safe. I felt so safe knowing Francis was always thinking of my husband's safety! And the hospitality of Oneida and Amber and the dogs was so nice. The food was so awesome I have been trying to recreate it and haven't been successful yet!!
  • Amazing guides!! They were very friendly and very professional but still fun. They were very knowledgeable about the area and safety was definitely one of their priorities. These guys are good at what they do and it was a pleasure to get to know them.
  • I stayed several nights at Yax'che Jungle Camp (part of Maya Guide Adventures) & did a fabulous cave kayaking tour with Marcos & his son Francis. I can't say enough good things about them! Their customer service is excellent (I left a camera cable at the camp & they were kind enough to make sure to get it to me in San Ignacio a few days later!), safety is their first priority, and having fun plus learning (about the area/culture) are their second priorities. I will definitely be back!
  • Cave kayaking with Maya Guides is the best one-day adventure in Belize. I do it every time I'm in Belize.
  • Awesome people, nice place, great storytellers. .... For Bohemia: a beautiful place in the middle of the jungle, great people, just bomb experience.. ...
