  • This farm was modernized at the same time as the site of the lion of Waterloo. I really enjoyed, because I think it's too restored. For example the Court & the garden are eerily empty.

  • Who likes thinking power, the absurdity of war and the great fortune of long peace in Europe, so the sense of Europe only a little about hatred and the Strebennach, which was a longer visit here come highly recommended. A very successful from our point of view and balanced exhibition which perfectly meets the (company -) political, historical and social situation 200 years ago. Performance and media are first classic. Admission price quite reasonable the proposed. It's worth the Quartet bestehdn from the two headquarters, to book Hougemont and the lion's mound and leave much time.

  • This is history. Visited over ten years ago. It looked almost exactly the same as paintings/drawings of the battle. So little had changed (e.g. window frames at the main gate). Quite a sobering experience that so many fought and died here.
  • A place to be seen trying to imagine the horrors of those days. Not to be missed when you are in brussels
  • Because 18 June 1815 201 years ago was fought the decisive battle of Napoleon Bonaparte, Waterloo. Here in this step you could admire Napoleon's army and the anglo-Prussian army (led by the Duke of Wellington and General Blücher) fight against the French. Most of the walls of the anglo-Prussian army have been built by the Hougoumont. And this in my opinion is a very important cultural heritage.
