  • On the square in front of the Basilica is Ambiorix in all its glory. Beautiful but lesser known basilica. We believe is a hidden gem. Contains a lot of valuables and religious art. The adjoining cloister and garden are also more than worth a visit.

  • From the Basilica itself, we have unfortunately not so much can see because of objectives for. ... Be remarkable here is that you two organs. But the big surprise was the URTeseum.dit museum located in the historic context of the Romanesque Tower and the Chapter House of the Basilica. Here you will find a wealth of valuables and religious art. So much beauty rarely seen together. A must is the muziekbox where you can view and listen to ancient music books. A great experience. In addition to the religious art and music there is also attention for the coronation celebrations that today still continue. After all this you come in the adjacent cloister and monastery garden. This is truly a hidden gem! worth

  • Tongeren is a small town we stayed over night for the antique market and wee lucky to stumble into the basilica during a organ concert. The church is beautiful. I would love to go back for the crowning of Mary they do once every 7 years- including this heart 2016
