The futuristic Gare de Liege-Guillemins sees 15,000 passengers pass through its station every day. One of the main railway stations in Belgium, it serves both domestic and international travelers. High-speed trains on their way to Paris and Brussels stop at the station daily. The station reopened in 2009 with Santiago Calatrava's design, featuring an arched ceiling that lets in plenty of natural light.   • I find this investment pharaonic and completely overrated at the time where savings are needed so the mess has been great. Large cities like Liège should lead by example. It's cold and in full air flow.

  • Looks weird with stupid cantilevers at each corner and is cold since it is wide open. Access to the station is not obvious from the tracks. Very small amount of tracks and shops/services under such a ...  more »
  • Visible from the sky, and the heights around Liège, from the edge of the Meuse, this building is a monument in itself. From outside or from inside, it impresses by its size. It gives off a feeling of legete. His style breaks with the past. Part of the new image of the city.
