Bobbejaanland, Lichtaart

3.4
#1 of 6 in Theme Parks in Antwerp Province
Experience the theme park of one of Belgium's much-loved performers at Bobbejaanland. Founded in 1960 by Bobbejaan Schoepen, a Flemish musician and entertainer, the attraction was owned by the same family until 2004. It began as a performance venue with seating for 1,000 people, but slowly evolved into a theme park with rides; today it boasts over 400 employees. Josée Schoepen, Bobbejaan's wife, also amassed a large collection of Hopi and Navajo artwork, one of the rare collections of Native American art in Europe. The 50 attractions, which will make you scream and laugh in turn, include roller coasters, water slides, traditional carnival rides, and shows. Many of the park's rides are intense, with bragging rights as some of the fastest and longest roller coasters in Europe. Buy tickets online or upon arrival. Bobbejaanland is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Lichtaart Edition.

It was already a long time since we had been here. Positive: variation, friendly staff, clean, attractions for young and old, wicked wheels show less:-wait times (often no indication of how long (yet not difficult to provide a sign with indicator))-fill attractions (e.g. Rio has place for 9, lot left with 3-4-that's not efficient)-quality v some attractions (e.g. Forbidden caves: a lesser finish, 3D meager, poor sensation in cart (did not move-no feeling)

Poorly maintained and boring attractions ... Each attraction is dirty and filled with dirt and all product placement. It is very clear that it is in this park comes to collect as much money as possible, but it's not clear what they do with that money ... Sure that it's not going to maintenance and new attractions in the park! In the drive of the Bob Express a poster that it is a "new" attraction, but there is unfortunately already 17 years. The Indiana River was one of my favorite attractions in the years 90, but now it is so shelter that even different letters of the name Indiana of the building have dropped off ... Come on Bobbejaanland, which is fast and cheap to tinker!! On the Dreamcatcher I feared for my life.. Unfortunately the stress on the attraction itself, but of the strange crackling sounds that made the attraction and the impression that the roller coaster gives with such a poorly maintained track. Where I be really curious about was the Mount Mara ... But again to disappointment with the free hit weakness graphics that Samsung has provided, and the fact that it's apparently just a ride on the Revolution was but with a VR glasses. Infuriating was also that all attractions only open between 11 and 12 am and went back to 17:30. locks. And this on a beautiful day in August Some attractions, such as the only real thrill ride the Typhoon, were not even open! To not compromising the park I do think that families with children (greater than 1 m 20) or people who are totally not liking exciting thrill rides it quite to their liking in the park.

Visit the 16/8 - first discovery for us to Bobbejaanland (2 adults and 3 children: ages 10, 12 and 13). We have enjoyed the attractions. The Sledgehammer really gives you a good feeling! We had not to wait too long in lines (35 min average), except for the attraction Revolution (1:05). Big effort by cons in terms of display and communication: few plans in the Park, Bobbejaanland app helps little on this point... And almost ' no info on wait time in the queues. (and again the app does nothing about it). We can find own Park as a whole: full of trash everywhere and they were rarely full (so emptied regularly). Present and attentive staff. Damage to have been fait accompli: the Typhoon stayed down all day (Disney Announces such things on its site, for example, why not them?). In short: a good day, if you can get discount tickets (I had mine at €20 pp). In the past, I think that the price would be a little overrated. Must be added the € 8 parking and food (expensive if you eat on the spot). I recommend this park, to (re) discover! It's just time for Bobejaanland to "move to the digital era", simply :)

Nice but small park. We love the water rides. Still prefer the Efteling over Bobbejaanland

Fun attractions, but the park is not well organised. I.e. the lines cut straight through the paths, blocking the passage way, no indication of how long the wait will be when queuing. Several kid's attractions only had 1 perzon to manage them, meaning the run 1 at a time. The cleanliness in the bathrooms wasn't great. Lines to buy food were huge, with not enough sraff to handle massive crowds. Finally: they charge you 2€ for a park map, but it doesn't indicate the height restrictions. N You'd have to go to the attractions themselves for that, with some disappointments along the way.

This is very nice old school theme park! Not many ultra modern attractions but is quite entertaining. I recommend the dizzy rollercoaster. Also some restaurants available to eat.
