René Magritte Museum, Jette
Categories: Art Museums, Museums
Housed in the home where he lived for 24 years, René Magritte Museum paints a picture of the life of the Belgian surrealist painter. Rene Magritte, world-renowned for his surrealist painting, lived in this house from 1930 to 1950. Walk the same halls as did the celebrated painter, and see where he created roughly half of his works, including many of his masterpieces. On five floors, the museum displays 200 of Magritte's paintings, including "Scheherazade," "The Return," and "The Empire of Light." See beyond Magritte's paintings as you explore the ground floor, decorated as it would have looked when the artist occupied the home. Trata-se da casa do artista e não de um museu tradicional. Tem poucas peças, mas tem a história de vida e pertences. muito interessante. It is the home of the artist, not a traditional Museum. Has a few parts, but has the story of life and belongings. very interesting.show original

This museum is the house Magritte lived in. The art aren't the originals. The house is kind of in the middle of nowhere but worth a visit if you a big fan of Magritte.

I love this little museum. The other museum, in the center of town is great to see a lot of real works, but this museum, the former house of Magritte, still has the atmosphere of it's former owner, and his wife, in it. It makes you feel closer to him, and there is so much to see on every floor. A lot of objects and some interesting copies. A hidden Gem!

Absolutely fantastic place, presenting the life and work of the surrealist painter. Concept of the museum very well done.
Very nice and interesting. Don't miss it If you are an art lover
