René Magritte Museum, Jette

(4.2/5 based on 1,600+ reviews on the web)
Housed in the home where he lived for 24 years, René Magritte Museum paints a picture of the life of the Belgian surrealist painter. Rene Magritte, world-renowned for his surrealist painting, lived in this house from 1930 to 1950. Walk the same halls as did the celebrated painter, and see where he created roughly half of his works, including many of his masterpieces. On five floors, the museum displays 200 of Magritte's paintings, including "Scheherazade," "The Return," and "The Empire of Light." See beyond Magritte's paintings as you explore the ground floor, decorated as it would have looked when the artist occupied the home. • The Magritte Museum is located in the Centre of town-by pass. It is included in the complex of the Royal Museum of fine arts, so there are options when choosing a ticket-go to only one or all at once) Museum of unusual, very Chamber-not a Museum in the classic his understanding, as we have, such as Pushkin, Pushkin Museum of fine arts in Moscow. This is another: another feed, different mood and way of communication with the audience, this is the kind of game or charade, how actually and Surrealism) generally, very you are inspired. If you love the creativity of this artist-definitely recommend) and if you have never experienced such art-I advise you to "prepare"-a little read and about the artist, and about that time because any art is inextricably linked with the era in which the artist lived and worked.

  • Set in one of the houses of Rene Magritte this museum is quite simple. Basically see and old house and some simple memorabilia of the painter. Lots of stairs, no wheelchair accessible.
  • In principle before this accidental hike in the Museum I knew nothing about Rene Magritte. Of course, when zazodish' to the Museum you immediately understand that he is the author of the picture with an Apple instead of a person. Unfortunately, it is not here. But tracing the work from beginning to end I am absolutely infatuated by his creativity. seemingly obscure paintings in surrealistic style, but personally, I read the title (completely transparent) have found in them a deeper meaning at once. Plus I've read about him and his works on the Internet. In the end I came out with a fairly developed opinion. I would like to note that, in addition, the Museum inside still has a 3. As I learned when everything was closed. So best to take mul'titiket. Because other museums contain works of Impressionist, Renaissance and contemporary art. Voobshchem Magritte. Crowning all is his only fenced picture that you must see. Not Apple but almost ...

  • It's a nice museum, but I expected something more. You will need an audio guide, if you don't speak french.
  • I love this little museum. The other museum, in the center of town is great to see a lot of real works, but this museum, the former house of Magritte, still has the atmosphere of it's former owner, and his wife, in it. It makes you feel closer to him, and there is so much to see on every floor. A lot of objects and some interesting copies. A hidden Gem!
  • Height plz i'ts really good guys check it
  • This museum is the house Magritte lived in. The art aren't the originals. The house is kind of in the middle of nowhere but worth a visit if you a big fan of Magritte.
  • Very nice and interesting. Don't miss it If you are an art lover
