  • To pay just outside the area, we had a wow-panorama of the gently sloping descending landscape. Just starting with 40 m height. You don't have much imagination required to hundred years back the British to see top wrestling, up the Hill, but the perfect target for the Germans. The trench complex, meanwhile, at various places by visitors "treated", and completely wooded, made little impression in itself. During our visit, it was winter, sunny landscape transformed into a misty cotton blanket so we at leaving the site to see a very different panorama. A landscape, barely visible and, then, probably a godsend for the attackers. Anyway, imposing vistas which a look back very easily.

  • It's nice and informative, but as mentioned below tickets cannot be bought on site. There is a system in place to automatically check your ticket so why not install one to also buy tickets? Plus there is no toilet if you need any so some parts of the trenches don't smell so good.
  • Nice place to visit, but keep in mind that you can't buy entry tickets on site. You need to buy them at the tourist centre of Heuvelland. A visit to Bayernwald should take you about 45 minutes.
  • Good
  • Informatief en goed onderhouden openlucht museum.
