  • The Saint Quintinus Cathedral is a Catholic Church in the Gothic style. The name of the Cathedral is the San Quintín Roman missionary who was tortured and beheaded in Gaul in the third century. The first church dates back to the 8th century, then was replaced in the 11th century by a Romanesque church and it became a cathedral. The Tower of the present Church dates from 1725. The walls of the Cathedral are decorated with frescos by the painter of Hasselt Godfried Guffens. It is very easy to reach since it is very near the Mark Grote. The entrance is free. Recommended.

  • Very centrally located in Hasselt, steps from the Town Hall, the Grand place and the shopping streets. Bother to go in to the murals and the giant paintings on display.

  • At the word ' Cathedral ' I expect something a bit more grandeur and majestic. Meets this building certainly is not. The fact that the Cathedral for half a century back to a ' normal ' parish church was, explains a lot. And as ' regular ' Church is the best a nice building and worth a visit. Construction began in the 11th century, which is still to see back to the stone-built parts of sand to the front. Originally probably built in Gothic style, but in any case as such or neo-Gothic restored. The facades include marl and brick, in a best simple and sober style. That simple and sober is carried through to the Interior, all sticking organ, altar, pulpit and several paintings here.

  • I need to know the mass order on Sunday. Give me that info immediately. It taker forever to find something what should there by default.
  • Beautiful Cathedral. Hasselt itself is also a beautiful and welcoming city. Well worth the effort.
