  • The St. Bavos cathedral is located right at the city center. Almost all tram lines have a stop nearby. Very close to the market, the city pavillion, Belfry and St. Michaels bridge. A very beautiful ca...  read more »
  • In this case the entrance was in the works, but does not detract from the visit, which is also free, and as always impressed by the vault of the nave, but especially the pulpit, wonderful work of wood and marble.

  • One of the finest cathedrals in Belgium and, therefore, the world. Do pay the few euros needed to see the Lamb of God painting (go left at the entrance of the cathedral), it will be one of the finests works you will ever see, literally worth 50 mona lisas.
  • From the outside it looks like a big church. From the inside its the most impressive church I've ever seen. It's so big, as you wander round, there are lots of other mini rooms and places of worship all along the corridors. A must see if your in the area. The general decor/colour is quite dark - it's very unusual colour mix.
  • The restoration is on the outside thus there isnt nice pictures from the outside. However upon entering, the cathedral is very grand and impressive! Definitely a must enter place.
  • Really beautiful cathedral in the inside, the crypt is also worth a quick look. Free of charge . Cost 4 euros to see the famous lamb painting. Went on a Saturday morning and they even had a harp player. Really nice touch.
  • Superb Cathedral, with a huge place in Gent's history. Van Eyk's Lamb of God is also a masterpiece. A must see if you ever visit Gent
