  • One of the most beautiful examples of Gothic churches/cathedrals in Belgium. Count "the work of art", or half, of the low countries then you definitely a reason to check out here. The "Lamb of God" by the van Eyck brothers, or a part of it, as has already been said, is definitely worth the small amount to pay to work

  • Gorgeous this church, immense, with just after you log on, a 3 x 2 meters Rubens .... then, majestic, in a salettas with charge (4 euro plus 1 euro for the radio that explains the various boards) found the famous shovel of the brothers Van Eyck, 1400 end, some restored, beautiful, charming ... need at least an hour to hear and appreciate the explanations of each table , from the main one of the Mystic Lamb, the Cumaean Sibyl .... then many chapels, sculptures, statues, paintings ...

  • A bit like in all the churches of Belgium where there is something relevant (it also happens in Bruges and Brussels), the internal structure of the Church, his perspectives and ideas of those who have designed or decorated are totally distorted by various panels installed to get money to tourists. Free Church, mid-level, 4 euros to see the altarpiece, relegated to a Hall built ad hoc for a fee.

  • Beautiful cathedral. Was covered in scaffolding for a while but its shining again. Inside you'll find the painting "Ghent Alterpiece" (Lam Gods) from Ven Eyck.
  • Absolutely breathtaking. Location of the Ghent altarpiece. The Crypt is actually a museum. Unfortunately unable to take photos inside.
  • One of the finest cathedrals in Belgium and, therefore, the world. Do pay the few euros needed to see the Lamb of God painting (go left at the entrance of the cathedral), it will be one of the finests works you will ever see, literally worth 50 mona lisas.
  • From the outside it looks like a big church. From the inside its the most impressive church I've ever seen. It's so big, as you wander round, there are lots of other mini rooms and places of worship all along the corridors. A must see if your in the area. The general decor/colour is quite dark - it's very unusual colour mix.
  • The Altarpiece, as reported in other reviews, is extraordinary and is worth the time and effort. Vastly under-appreciated.
